Walmart Cottage Cheese Recalled in 24 States for Possible Infection Risk

The recalled cottage cheese Available in 24 states from February 17th to February 20th, 2026: Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

If you have cottage cheese that is subject to a recall, please don’t eat. Throw it away or return it to Walmart for a refund.

Symptoms of food poisoning to watch out for

Unpasteurized dairy products can cause food poisoning. Symptoms vary depending on the bacteria involved, but may include:
  • nausea
  • headache
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • heat

Most cases of food poisoning will improve on their own within a week and can be treated at home with rest and plenty of fluids.

If you have a high fever, severe diarrhea, or prolonged dehydration, you should seek immediate medical attention.
