Monroe-Hammond joined Everyday Health in 2021 and currently runs the news desk as an editor. They earned master’s degrees from the State University of New York Newmark Graduate School of Journalism and bachelor’s degrees in film and media studies from Emory University in Atlanta.
Hammond has written and edited commentary on numerous health and wellness topics, including racial disparities in HIV treatment, the metabolic benefits of cold exposure, how the flu shot works, and solutions to seasonal dermatological problems. We also compiled articles on NASA’s latest developments, the health impacts of climate change, and cutting-edge quantum physics. Their research has been featured in Popular Science, Insider, psychology todayHealth Digest, etc.
Before turning to journalism, Hammond taught English while living in Thailand and Malaysia. They were born and raised in the American South and currently reside in Brooklyn with their spouses, three cats, and countless houseplants.
